John Kelly Waterford Opel Champions Opel's Drive the Passion Programme with Rugby Ball Handovers to Kilkenny RFC and Dungarvan Rugby Club

John Kelly Waterford Opel, main Opel dealer, proudly aligns itself with Opel's Drive the Passion Programme, demonstrating its commitment to rugby and community support. In a recent collaboration, the dealership facilitated the generous handover of rugby training balls to Kilkenny RFC and Dungarvan RFC, made possible through Opel Ireland's Drive the Passion Programme. Opel, a proud sponsor of Irish Rugby and the official car partner to the IRFU, is dedicated to supporting local clubs in Ireland by providing essential equipment that will have an immediate and meaningful impact on the vibrant rugby scene across the country.
Ken McEvoy, Sales Executive at Waterford Opel, takes immense pride in backing these teams. Sharing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, he expressed, "It's a great source of pride for us to supply Opel Gilbert Rugby balls to Kilkenny RFC and Dungarvan Rugby Club. The admirable passion these clubs demonstrate for the sport is truly commendable, and we eagerly look forward to forging additional partnerships to champion their ongoing success."

Coaches from both Dungarvan Rugby Club and Kilkenny RFC have conveyed their gratitude for Opel Ireland's generous gesture. "On behalf of Dungarvan Rugby Club, we extend our sincere thanks to John Kelly Waterford Opel and Opel Ireland for their donation of rugby balls. This support is invaluable to our team, and the rugby balls will undoubtedly enhance our training sessions," expressed Cliona Mackey, U10 girls Coach at Dungarvan Rugby Club.
Additionally, a rugby ball handover was also completed at Kilkenny RFC where Mags Hennessy, Director of Women's rugby at Kilkenny RFC, conveyed heartfelt appreciation, expressing, "We extend our sincere gratitude to John Kelly Waterford Opel and Opel Ireland for their generous donation of rugby balls. This support holds significant meaning for our team, and we deeply value the dedication shown by John Kelly Waterford Opel and Opel Ireland to grassroots rugby. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact these contributions will have on our players and the overall success of our club".
Opel remains steadfast in its mission to distribute Gilbert rugby balls to rugby clubs nationwide, fostering connections with local communities and contributing to the sport's growth. With successful visits to various prominent clubs across Ireland already, Opel aims to expand its outreach to more clubs in 2024, actively empowering the future stars of Irish rugby.
