ALL-NEW OPEL GRANDLAND: REDEFINING GRAND AT YOUR LOCAL OPEL DEALER NATIONWIDE
The much-anticipated, all-new Opel Grandland has landed in Opel Dealer showrooms nationwide. The new flagship model from Opel, already a winner of an illustrious Golden Steering Wheel 2024 award, is offered with a choice of six colours, including striking new Impakt Copper and Spektrum Blue options, and in three trims: SC, Elegance and GS. The mid-sized SUV is now on sale in petrol hybrid and all-electric guise, with a new plug-in electric hybrid following later in 2025. The range price-leading Grandland Electric SC retails from €39,065, plus delivery and inclusive of grants, whilst the Grandland Hybrid SC retails from €40,995, plus delivery.
Opel Ireland is firm in its approach: the brand is equally committed to satisfying diverse customer powertrain needs, whilst remaining fully committed and ready for an electrified future.
At the national press launch in Gowan Auto’s Distribution Centre in Citywest, James Brooks, Managing Director at Opel Ireland, explained: “It is clear, the new Opel Grandland is a much more stylish and visually appealing SUV than its predecessor model, with increased proportions to ensure an airier and more spacious cabin. It sports excellent comfort features, and class leading technologies across all three trims. Critically, we have delivered each variant in the range, in a very keenly priced package for Ireland, regardless of the powertrain chosen – Hybrid or Electric.”
He continued: “Indeed, our new Hybrid powertrain, now available on Corsa, Mokka, Astra, new Grandland and soon, on our new Frontera models, will strongly appeal to drivers who want to enjoy pure electric driving pleasure without having to connect to a charger. The new technology enables fully electric travel up to 50% of the time in urban settings. Easy to use, and efficient, the Hybrid model delivers a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and in fuel consumption.”
He added: “Meanwhile, for customers who embrace full-electric driving, I am very pleased to remind the public of the Opel Take Charge programme. First launched in 2021 with the arrival of the Opel Corsa Electric, Opel Ireland is fully committed to making the switch to full-electric as smooth and as affordable as possible for our customers. Through our Take Charge promotion, we have already saved dozens of Opel EV customers thousands of Euros, by offering a complete package of finance saving measures: we offer a combination of low-cost finance options, discounted green electricity through Energia, and cover the cost of a home charging solution. Critically, we also give peace of mind, committing to offering a replacement, equivalent ICE vehicle after 6 months, if, in the unlikely event, a customer is not happy with their emissions-free driving. Finally, currently, our retail price positioning across Mokka, Astra and the new Opel Grandland is clear: our electric models, inclusive of grants, are now cheaper than our ICE variants.”
The new Grandland Hybrid comes with a 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine with 100 kW (136 hp) as well as 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor and electrified six-speed dual clutch transmission. It delivers a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and in fuel consumption.
The new Grandland Electric 73kWh variant (523km range/160kW DC charging), will be joined by a 97kWh battery offering up to 700km range later this year. Grand in every way, the new premium SUV from Opel is longer, wider and features larger wheels than the outgoing Grandland. Measuring 4,650mm long (+173mm), 1,934mm wide (+49mm) and 1,665mm high (+36mm), it has 20mm more legroom in the rear and up to 1,645 litres load volume in the boot, with 36 litres of cabin storage. The new Grandland is impressive in stance and sits boldly at the top of Opel’s SUV portfolio, combining 19” alloy wheels, a two-toned floating roof (GS trim), contrast cladding, and sharp wheel-arch lines.
The new Grandland brings to life visually impactful front and rear lighting signatures to ensure it stands out from the crowd. A new 3D front Vizor with illuminated Blitz logo, proudly sits at the centre front, standard on the level three GS trim. New illuminated OPEL lettering at the rear is standard across all trims. The new Grandland is also the first Opel with the brand’s new, industry-leading, glare-free Intelli-Lux HD light technology, featuring more than 50,000 lighting elements, and standard on GS trims.
Packed to the brim with standard equipment, the entry level one SC trim offers adaptive cruise control with stop and go, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry and start, lane keep assist, extended traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness alert, intelligent speed adaptation, 8 airbags, power folding door mirrors, electro-chrome rear view mirror, auto air conditioning with dual zone controls, 10” multimedia touchscreen with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, 10” driver information cluster, USB type C connectivity, Intelli-LED headlights, rain sensitive windscreen wipers, the unique illuminated rear Opel nameplate, fabric seats, and 19” alloy wheels.
The level two Elegance trim boasts as standard, front and rear parking sensors with rear view camera, a heated steering wheel, AGR-certified driver and front passenger seats, heated front seats, rear wipers with camera cleaning, and a power tailgate.
The range-topping GS trim includes a 16” multimedia touchscreen with navigation, two rear USB connections, the class-leading IntelliLux 50K pixel HD Headlamps, the new 3D illuminated Vizor with edge light technology, a two-tone black roof, driver seat cushion nose extension, new Pixel box storage space in the centre console with edge light technology, ambient lighting (7 colours), privacy glass and wireless charger.
True to Opel's “Greenovation” approach, during development, the Grandland designers and engineers paid attention to every detail to find resource-saving solutions, aimed at reducing its carbon footprint and at the same time bring a future-oriented, attractive and comfortable SUV onto the road. As such, 100% of the interior fabrics are made of materials with a recycled content: seats, door panels, instrument panel, centre console. The Grandland body is made of recycled aluminium as well as steel with recycled content. In fact, over 500KG of the Grandland is made of green materials and the car is 95% recoverable at the end of its life.
